Museum Villa Montebello
Deauville is part of the communes of Normandy to contribute greatly to its fame. Its beautiful sandy beaches, historical monuments, gastronomy and cultural heritage make up its charm. Among the latter, the most adulated remain the museums. Besides the Festivals of all kinds therefore, Deauville confirms its attachment to these artistic fields. Notably, that of Villa Montebello.
Located on the 64th street of General Leclerc, between Deauville and Trouville, the Villa Montebello Museum was built in 1865 and has been home to ethnographic and art objects since 1972. Its collection now includes the works of Raymond Savignac as well as paintings, prints and photography exhibits that make us discover the fascinating history of Trouville and the sea baths.
Passionate about history and culture, the museum of art and history of Villa Montebello opens you its doors from Wednesday to Sunday between 10 am and 5:30 pm and even during school holidays and public holidays. From the entrance, its sumptuous façade with fluted pilasters welcomes you in an aristocratic decoration of the Second Empire. According to the commune, it is one of the rare vestiges that testify to the great mansions built in the era of the XIXe century.
