Deauville city centre
Deauville is a prestigious seaside resort located in Normandy, two hours from Paris. It is a popular tourist destination whose cultural heritages and historical monuments, located in its districts, contribute to its reputation. Among the best known is the city center, the most lively place of the commune especially during the market days.
It is the seat of many tourist sites to which visitors rush as soon as they arrive. Namely Place Morny, the heart of downtown. Designed by Desle-François Berney, it is the intersection of the 8 streets that structure the urban plan. In the center of the square was the statue of the Duke of Morny, the founding father of the town, which in 1896 was replaced by a fountain.
Vestige of the past and emblem of Deauville, it is also a place of commerce par excellence since 1881 until today. Restaurants, cafe, tearoom, club, pharmacy and various businesses are housed here. Rue Eugène Colas, for example, is the not to be missed address to shop in luxury boutiques or to stay in luxury hotels.
Rue Gambetta is a place to revel in traditional Norman gastronomy. The bistros, the tea rooms, the pancake house, the pizzeria or the local bakery will be happy to put you in their elegant houses decorated in a style that combines harmoniously modern, rustic and vintage.
